December 1st marks the start of our school Advent Calendar Tree. Charlie was picked out to open the 1st envelope and all the children were delighted to have an extended lunch break to enjoy a Dance Party.
Day 2 of the Advent Calendar saw Sarah picked out to open the envelope and everyone was delighted to get ‘Chromebook Time’. Each child got a chance to try out their new individual headsets so everyone really enjoyed some fun time.
December 3rd and Conor’s name was chosen to see what today’s surprise was. It was ‘ Tracksuit for a Day’ so all the children can come to school in a tracksuit of their choice in Monday. As a nice Friday bonus, each child went home with a selection box with thanks to Tina and Cherryblossoms who gave us the treats for all our children. Thank you Tina.
December 6th and Saoirse was picked out to open today’s envelope. Everyone was delighted to enjoy some extra break time in the yard just in time before #StormBarra.
With a Status Red Weather warning and school closed, we were forced to call in the troops to open today’s Advent Calendar envelope?. Our thanks to Charlie O’ Sullivan who obliged us today. So tomorrow is Odd Sock Day! Now I wonder, if any of our families would have Odd Socks at home???.
Let the search begin.
December 8th and we’d to call for further backup today to open the Advent Calendar. We called on Pinky from the Infant Classroom to help us and he discovered Hot Chocolate so all the children can look forward to Hot Chocolate in school tomorrow.
December 9th and the children all enjoyedsome Hot Chocolate with marshmallows and cream. Diarmuid was picked out to open the envelope and the children were delighted to see ‘No Homework for a night’. We might need to look at Senior Infants Reading in the school as when Diarmuid was reading out the note, he read out ‘No Homework for a week’!
December 10th and Patrick opened todays envelope. Inside, it read’ Wear slippers for a day’. So the children are looking forward to wearing some comfy slippers in class on Monday. As an extra Friday bonus, each child received a chocolate tree decoration. We cannot confirm how many will make it as far as any Christmas tree!
Monday December 13th and everyone was cosy in their slippers in class from Friday’s envelope. Mairéad was picked out to open today’s envelope and everyone was thrilled to see ‘A trip to the park’. The weather obliged and everyone had great fun
December 14th and Sarah picked out today’s envelope to discover Ice cream for everyone. Everyone enjoyed a cone with chocolate sauce and sprinkles!
December 15th and Jack was picked out to open today’s envelope. With no prospect of snow on the horizon, the children were delighted to see a paper snowball fight
December 16th and Dáire’s name was picked out to open today’s envelope. There was great cheer when he announced a ‘Games Afternoon’ for everyone.
December 17th and all the children were looking forward to seeing what was in today’s envelope. Gearóid was picked out and there was much laughter to see Mad Hair Day.
December 18th and Grace was lucky enough to open today’s envelope. A ‘Winter Walk’was inside today’s envelope so everyone was looking forward to wrapping up and going for a stroll with some Christmas tunes playing
